Earl Willard Keegan, 84, of Hollister, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a native of Atkinson, IL, and had lived in Putnam County since 1983 coming from Geneseo, IL. Earl served honorably in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and retired as a Master Sergeant following 20 years of service. Following his time in the Marine Corps, he worked as a corrections officer for the state of Florida for 10 years and later as a bus driver for Putnam County School District. Earl was a member of the San Mateo Church of God and had also been a member of the VFW in Illinois. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening, working around the house, and “piddling”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard Keegan and Arlene Phillips Keegan, brothers, James and Michael Keegan, and sister, Pam Keegan.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Laura Keegan, daughters, Cheryl Keegan and Cindy Johns all of Hollister, grandchildren, Cory Johns (Krysti), Cody Johns, and Laura Johns, as well as great-grandchildren, Kloey Johns, Charlotte Johns, Katherine Palmatier, and Cayson Johns.
