Obituary of Earl W. Fisher

Fisher, Earl W. of Saginaw, Michigan. Passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. He was 86 years old. Earl was born June 30, 1932 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Albert and Bertha (Larson) Fisher. He married Barbara Jean Vancelette on September 26, 1952. Earl proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After leaving the United States Air Force, he worked at Reed Tool and Die in Holden, Massachusetts. In 1963, Earl moved his family to Saginaw, Michigan. He was employed by Saginaw Steering Gear as a Tool Engineer, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, Free Masons, and Tri-City Carvers for many years.
Earl loved being outdoors where he enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing while growing up in Worcester, Massachusetts. He also enjoyed golfing for many years. Earl also loved working on wood carvings and became an award winning wood carver.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean Fisher; children, Sandra (Dominic Glasgow) Young, Susan Garlick, Earl (Sandy) Fisher Jr., Nancy (Frank) Kalebich; grandchildren, Robert (Barbara Maresca) Young, Kristopher Young, Nicholas Young, Michael Young, Kaylee Garlick, Lindsay Garlick, Stephen (Leah) Guldenzoph, Dana (Seth) Scott, Jordan (Nathan) Strayhorn, Kyle (Tiffany) Kalebich, Courtney Kalebich and Cole Kalebich; great-grandchildren, Oliver Young, Margot Young, Wilder Strayhorn, J Scott, Elliot Kalebich, Hudson Kalebich and many nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his daughter Joan Fisher-Guldenzoph and his sisters Mae Olsson and Janet Spinney.
