Earl Ray Yoder, 94
Okeechobee – Earl Ray Yoder died May 16, 2021. He was born on January 30, 1927, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Earl’s father passed away when Earl was six years old, leaving his mother with him and two younger brothers. He went to live at Hershey Orphanage and attended Milton Hershey Industrial School in Hershey, Pennsylvania until he reached 18 years of age.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army in Germany. In 1963, he was employed with Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, Maryland, and retired from there in 1987. He enjoyed hunting deer, bear, and turkey in Potter County, Pennsylvania, fishing in the Susquehanna River and Lake Okeechobee, and playing golf.
Mr. Yoder was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Yoder and Thomas Yoder.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cynthia Yoder; sons, Larry R. Yoder (Susan) of Avon Park, Florida and David A. Yoder of Hagerstown, Maryland; daughter, Valerie Goetz of Green Castle, Pennsylvania; and sister, Debbie Shoemaker (Terry) of Mary Esther, Florida.
