Earl Lindon Fields passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the age of 92. Earl was born in September 1929, in Pueblo, Colorado to Olie F. and Lora V. Fields.

Earl was the youngest of four boys – Orlin F, Loren E and Donald I.Earl and his family moved to Miami Florida when he was a child. He attended Andrew Jackson High School in Miami, Florida and studied at the University of Alabama. The Fields family returned to Colorado where Earl became a Class 1A General Contractor in El Paso County – Lic # 102. As a general contractor he built commercial, residential, industrial and even a race track here in El Paso County. He traveled and maintained his multiple licenses in five states.

Earl (Lindy) led a very full eventful life. Becoming a Master Mason at a very young age, Earl was Past Master of El Paso Lodge # 13, and belonged Scottish Rite Southern Colorado Consistory and served as Past President and Secretary to the Colorado Springs Shrine Club. Earl also served as a member of the Al Kaly Shriners Potentate’s Motor Escort Parade Unit and was the oldest member of the V.Z. Reed Hose Company which was established in 1893. Earl was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs.

He served with the Miami Dade County Police Department, Colorado Springs Police Department, Special Agent to the Kennedy family. He competed in the Daytona 500 back when part of the track was on the beach, built Hill Climb cars to race Pikes Peak, built and drove stock cars. An avid pilot spanning his entire life, accomplished semi pro golfer, hunter, motorcycle enthusiast, successful boat builder and spent many hours at Lake Pueblo and Lake Powell. When asked – he could not think of anything he had not done and became proficient at everything he did. Including patents on his inventions.

He was preceded in death by his parents Olie and Lora, brothers Orlin, Loren and Donald. Sons, Richard Fields and Earl Fields Jr., Daughter, Eileen Nelson and two of his grandsons.

Earl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dixie (West) Fields; his children, Donald (Suzy), Jeannine Larsen (Jeff), Curtis House (Teresa), Mark House, Brian House; 16 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren; a nephew and cousins.
