Earl Kuykendall, 95, of West Terre Haute, passed away Friday August 12, 2016 in Meadows Manor North. Earl was born in West Terre Haute on January 6, 1921 to Homer Kuykendall and Lillie Castle Kuykendall. Earl was a lifelong resident of Terre Haute. In 1949 he established his own company, Earl Kuykendall Construction Co, Inc., of which he was President. In his early career he built over 200 residential homes before he began building commercial projects which included construction of Fuqua School which marked the first time a new school had been erected in the city since the building of Woodrow Wilson. Other schools he has constructed include Otter Creek, Lost Creek and West Vigo. He was also the contractor and builder of The Osco Drug Company building and the Hillman’s Jewelers building.
