Earl Eugene Jones, 78, of Mexico formerly of Moberly, passed away November 27, 2021. He was born November 11, 1943 to the union of Alfred and Opal (Boucher) Jones.
He is survived by a sister Eleanor Franklin of Cairo, his brother Lee Jones of Lake St. Louis, five nieces; Teresa Mihu, Sheryl Morgan, Joy Breusch, Leeann Blundell, and Laura Auger, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Earl was a graduate of Cairo High School. Prior to his honorable discharge, he served in the U.S. Army for fifteen years. He was stationed in several bases around the world, including Viet Nam. After military service he worked for many years for the City of Moberly. For his final nine years he resided at the Veterans Home in Mexico, MO.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family during the visitation, held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Services honoring and celebrating Earl’s life followed. Military honors, committal prayer and burial took place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
