Earl J. Jackson, 78, Anderson, died December 12, 2010 at St. Johns Hospital, after a short illness. He was born February 29, 1932 in Bloomfield, Indiana, the son of Earl Jackson and Evia Boruff Jackson. Earl was a graduate of Summitville High School Class of 1950. He was a member of the Summitville Goblins 1949 basketball team that played in the semi-state tournament. He served in the United States Air Force, where he taught Air Base Defense during the Korean War from 1952-1956.

He worked at Container Corporation in Anderson for seven years. In 1957, he began working at Fisher Body in Marion where he worked for 36 years until his retirement in 1993. He also worked part-time at Edgewood Country Club, where he was a member. Earl was currently a member of the Anderson Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the Container Softball team that played at Shadyside Park. Earl spent many hours playing golf with family and friends.

Also, he received his commercial pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. Survivors include his loving wife, Marilyn Kline Jackson to whom he was married for 58 years.

He is also survived by the following family members; brothers-in-law, Max Nash, Summitville; Floyd Carol Kline, Carmel; Keith Joanne Kline, Anderson; Tom Wanda Kline, Anderson; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Richard Miller, Sanford, Florida; Mabel Cox, Anderson; and Georgeanna Warriner, Anderson; nieces and nephews, Philip Melinda Nash, Yuma, AZ, DixAnn Joe Campbell, Summitville; Kathy Mark Cawley, Spring Hills, Tennessee; Jane Tom Farr, Carmel; Jim Sheryl Kline, Fishers; Cindy Arvai, Sanford, Florida; Gary Rene Patton, Anderson; Rick Cindy Patton, Jacksonville; Florida, Rene Chris Jones, Kokomo, Bruce Stefani Patton, Dexter, Michigan; Stephanie Kline, Anderson; Jeffrey Lorie Kline, Anderson; Brad Karie Kline, Fishers; Paige Warriner and Tricia Warriner, Orlando, Florida; several great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Janice Nash, and several aunts and uncles.
