Believing and taking comfort in the writings of Paul in Corinthians 5:8 “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” the family of Earl G. Sheppard shares his passing on October 7, 2020 at the age of 89.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathleen Sheppard, daughter’s Libby Williams (David), of Tuscaloosa and Joy Ashbury, of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren; Spencer Williams of Los Angeles CA, Meagan Fulbright (Thomas), Annagrace Ashbury, of Cleveland, TN and great grand children Harper, Ella Claire and Everly.
Mr. Sheppard was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Gussie Mae Sheppard, sister; Elizabeth Walker and brother Jack Sheppard.
He was a veteran of Korea and employed by the State of Alabama for over 30 years as a supervisor of ad volorem taxes over a seven county area. He was a faithful member of South Highlands Baptist Church and later North Ridge Baptist, serving as deacon at both churches.
While we will miss his quite, peaceful demeanor, we rejoice that he has come to sight in the home prepared for him by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
