Earl Eugene ”Gene” Fisher, 77, Anderson, died August 19, 2003 at Manor Care. He was born January 8, 1926 in Anderson and was a lifelong resident.

He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in 1992 after 28 years. He was a 1944 graduate of Anderson High School and attended Indiana University and Anderson University. He served his country in the US Army from 1944-1946 during WWII being discharged from Camp Atterberry. He was a member of East Lynn Christian Church where served as a deacon and chairman of the Trustees.

He was a member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge. He served as Anderson Township Trustee and Surveyor. He was very active in the Republican Party. He was a member of the VFW Post #266.

He is survived by his three children, Rev. Stephen K. & wife Patricia Fisher of Muskegon, Michigan, Doug & wife Denise Fisher of Avon, and Deborah L. Gaunt of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Edith Rosemary Fisher Miller of Traverse City, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Fisher, Benjamin Fisher, Megan Fisher, Justin Gaunt, Sarah Gaunt, Lauren Gaunt and Katelyn Gaunt; niece, Carol Ann Turner of Traverse City, Michigan. Great Nephew: Logan Turner.

He was preceded by his wife of 45 years, Pauline Mae Shafer Fisher on January 26, 1993 and his parents, Walter ”Earl” & Sarah Alberta Liff Fisher.
