Earl Claude “Spider” Bertin

Earl Claude “Spider” Bertin, 79, died in his home on June 4, 2015, in Metairie, LA. Earl was born on March 21, 1936 in New Orleans, LA to Claude Edgar Bertin and Florine Ohler Bertin. He attended John McDonaugh High School where he met his wife Beryl Ann Mitteer Bertin. They were married on June 16, 1957. He worked on the river as a longshoreman and foreman. He retired in 1997. He served in the Air Force Reserve for 8 years. He is survived by his wife Beryl Ann Mitteer Bertin; his sister Joycelyn Bertin Barrios (William) of Slidell, LA; his son Bert Claude Bertin (Cheryl); his grandchildren Ashley Elizabeth Pulling, Danielle Bertin Rosiere (Matt), Nicole Marie Bertin, and Lauren Michelle Pulling; his great-grandchildren Kain Matthew Rosiere and Juliet Marie Rosiere; and nine nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter Tammy Bertin Pulling. For most of his life, he was very active in the Farhad Grotto MOVPER as a Past Monarch and Past President of their Klown Unit. He was a member of Mount Moriah-Quitman No. 59, Linn Wood Ionic No. 167, and the International Longshoremen’s Association, AFL-CIO Local 3000. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and gaming.
