Earl Lewis Chandler, 85, died of heart failure on March 17, 2012. Earl was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 18, 1926 to Earl and Annie Chandler. In 1928, he and his mother moved to Wichita, Kansas. After graduating from Wichita East, Earl joined the Air Force. He returned to Wichita after the war to graduate from Wichita State University, where he met and married the first love of his life, Nancy Quinlisk. First starting his career as a draftsman and car salesman, Earl found his passion as banker, a role he was to proudly serve for 35 years. He got his start at Union National Bank in Wichita, and then in 1968 became the President for Lawrence National Bank in Lawrence, KS. In 1975, he and Nancy moved to Olathe, KS, where he served as President and CEO for First National Bank of Olathe for 19 years. He also served in many charitable organizations, including president of the Lawrence United Fund, founding director of Faith Village, Inc., served on the board of the Olathe Medical Center, and was deeply involved in Heart to Heart.
