Earl A. Lamb
Earl A. Lamb, 90, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away at home on July 19, 2017, of natural causes.
Earl was born in North Platte, Nebraska, to Harry and Lena Lamb on December 6, 1926. He grew up on the family ranch in the Tryon, Nebraska Sandhills. He married Arlene Snow on February 25th, 1950. Early in their marriage, they bought a grocery store in Wellfleet, Nebraska. It was hard on him to leave the ranch after it sold when his father died. They moved to Emmett in 1956 where Earl worked at Safeway. After a few years, he became self-employed.
Earl was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, camp and spend time in the mountains.
Earl had a passion for gardening and would send boxes of vegetables home with each of the kids every fall. He also liked to raise trees from seedlings. One of the spruce trees he grew is now located on the front lawn of the Gem County Courthouse.
Earl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Arlene Lamb; son, Roger (Myrna) Lamb; daughter, Beverly (Joe) Goldsby; daughter, Barbara Lamb; three grandchildren: Sarah Goldsby, Larissa Goldsby-Hurita and Joe R (Codie) Goldsby; and great-granddaughter, Kylie Hurita; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
