E . Danice Hanner  was born to the late Walter Williams and Gladys Marie Strickland Williams on February 2 , 1946. Danice grew up in a loving home while developing a gift of compassion for others.

In 1964, Danice graduated from Chatham High School in Siler City,  N.C.  After high school,  Danice went to work at Glendale Hosiery for several years. During her tenure at Glendale Hosiery, Danice attended night classes and obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant license. This helped fulfill her drive and compassion for helping others. In 1993, Danice married her loving husband Myron Hanner. They were married for twenty-five wonderful years.

Danice became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was a very active participant in the church choir. Danice never complained when called on to do something in the church. She attended church regularly until her health failed her. Danice’s faith was important to her and grounded her during her last days.

Danice was accomplished at making creative jewelry and completing word searches in record speed.

Danice was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Ever  opportunity that she got, she attended sporting events, school activities, and hosted dinners at her home. She would also babysit them when needed after school and in the summer. Danice cherished the time she spent with all of  them.

Danice peacefully departed from her earthly home and went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2018 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Danice was preceded in death by: her father and mother, Walter Williams and Gladys Marie Strickland Williams; her siblings, Annie Ruth Siler, Walter S. Williams, Kenneth Williams; and her grandson, Lewis Farrish.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 25 years, Myron Hanner; her son, William Carl McIntosh; step-daughters, Marian Taylor (Fredrick), Annsie Alston, and Nicole Hanner; her sister, Cynthia Williams; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
