Dyanne Marion Vass, 67, of Statesville, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home.
She was born May 21, 1949 in Flushing, NY to the late Richard and Eleanor Elizabeth Branning Demarest.
Dyanne was a stay-at-home grandma who retired almost 20 years ago from Target in Deerfield Beach, FL. She moved to Statesville in 2012 to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She genuinely doted on her grandchildren, showering them with love and attention, buying them too many toys and just plain spoiling them rotten. She was the best kind of grandma and her grandchildren gave her immense joy.
When she wasn’t with Logan and Piper, she loved gardening, cooking, watching reality TV, getting her hair and nails done, working all of her puzzles and showing kindness to strangers. She was the kind of person who always found a few dollars in the bottom of her purse to give to someone in need even when those were her last few dollars. She was selfless and kind. She had a heart for veterans and loved her country.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Jeff) Eudy; of Statesville; sister, Darlene Kelement of Washington State; brothers, Richard Demarest of Washington State, Robert Demarest of Alabama, Raymond Demarest of Connecticut and Russ Demarest of Cary, NC; and grandchildren, Logan and Piper Eudy of Statesville.
