Dwight Winfield Suitter, 90
Dwight Winfield Suitter, 90, of Smelterville, Idaho, died April 7, 2018 at Mountain Valley of Cascadia, Kellogg. He was born on September 22, 1927 in South Miami, Florida to Charles and Gladys (Higgs) Suitter. He married Mabel Rochester on November 3, 1948 in Miami, Florida.
Dwight served in the Navy during World War II and fought in many battles in the Pacific.
For a number of years, he ran an outfitting business, packing hunters into the St. Joe Forest and enjoyed many summer trips into the wilderness areas of North Idaho.
Dwight and Mabel were members of the Vagabundos del Mar for 20 years and enjoyed fishing in Baja, Mexico during that time. He took up prospecting, first in the southwest and then in the Idaho panhandle, and joined several different prospecting associations.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy Suitter. He is survived by his wife, Mabel and three children, Eric Suitter, Janet (Scott) Wilbanks, Michael (Mary) Suitter, He had nine grandchildren, seven living and two deceased and eleven great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Loving Care, Shoshone Medical Center, North Idaho Hospice and Mountain Valley of Cascadia for the excellent care they provided during his last few weeks.
