Those left to honor Dwight’s memory are his wife, Patricia of Newton; son, Todd A. (and Deanne) Tool of Altoona, Iowa; his 2 daughters, Tracy L. (and Charlie) Clements of Newton and Tanya S. (and Chris) Coffelt of Leon, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, Jenna and Ryan Tool, both of Altoona, Jacob, Emily, and Stephanie Clements, all of Newton, and Quentin and Matthew Coffelt, both of Leon; his brother, Dennis (and Barb) Tool of Prairie City, Iowa; and sister, Phyllis (and Val Dean) Olson of Newton.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, John I. and Ruth L. (McKee) Tool.
He graduated from Newton High School in 1961. Dwight was a machinist at the John Deere Company – Des Moines Works for 30 years, retiring in 2002.
Dwight was a member of the UAW Local 450 in Des Moines, Iowa. He truly enjoyed all sports. Some of his favorite teams included the Atlanta Braves, Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Newton Cardinals. Dwight also liked playing and watching golf. He always had a good sense of humor.
