Dwight P. Prevost, age 77, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in Alexandria, LA. Dwight Prevost was born on June 24, 1945, to Philip & Stella Prevost in Mansura, Louisiana. After Dwight graduated from Moreauville High School in 1963, he went on to study Industrial Technology from the University of Louisiana.

Upon completion of pilot training, Dwight served in Vietnam for one year. After the war, he continued to serve as a KC 135 pilot at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana (1970 – 1973), Rhine Mein Air Force Base in Frankfurt, Germany (1973 – 1976), K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Marquette, Michigan (1976 – 1980), and retired after 20 years as a major at Barksdale Air Force Base in 1987.

After retirement, he worked for Boeing in Lake Charles. In 1988, he accepted a position as a flight simulator instructor to the Saudi Royal Air Force. With the birth of his first grandchild on the horizon, Dwight returned to Haughton, Louisiana in 1994 and worked as office manager for S & J Tech.

Throughout his life, Dwight Prevost was referred to in many ways. He was a son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved serving his community and his family in so many ways.

We will miss his joking personality, his constant reminders to not spend too much money and his great love for all of us he leaves behind.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Prevost of Bordelonville; daughter, Monique Cunningham (Scott) of Shreveport; stepchildren: Lisa Breaux, Kaye Wilkes (Marcus), Buddy Bordelon (Dana), and Lee Bordelon (Lisa). He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Ben Cunningham (Sarah), Mary Beth Cunningham Crow (Andrew), and Caroline Cunningham; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Estelle Prevost & Dixie Prevost; nieces, Melinda Miletello (Dr. Gerald), Michele Janasik (Gregg), and Roxanne Prevost (Greg); nephew, Mark Prevost; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Prevost; parents, Philip Prevost & Stella Bordelon Prevost; sister, Julianna Coco; brothers, Michael Prevost and Hans Prevost; nephew, Todd Coco.

His heart of this world may have failed but his spirit was stubbornly strong: When peace, like a river attendeth my way When sorrow like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.
