Dwight A. Humm, age 77 of Midland, passed away Sunday evening, February 11, 2018 at his residence. The son of the late Elmer and Ruth (Gulick) Humm was born July 22, 1940 in Alma. Dwight served his country with the Army during 1962-1965. He then went on to work for Dow Corning, retiring in 1998 after 33 years of service. Dwight enjoyed genealogy, history, reading, and classical music.

Surviving is his wife of 47 years, the former Norine DeWitte of whom he married July 25, 1970 in Fremont, MI; daughters Heather and Alissa Humm of Midland; brothers, Vance (Evelyn) Humm, Theron (Sandra) Humm; sisters, Karen Ray, Corinne (Richard) Warmbold, sister-in law, Edith Humm. In addition to his parents, Dwight was preceded in death by his brother, Loren Humm and brother-in law, Duane Ray.

Dwight was extremely active in the Masonic Lodge, the Royal Arch Masons, the Mummers, the Elf Khurafeh Shrine, the Knights Templars, and the Northeastern York Rite College over the years. He was raised in Centre Lodge No. 273 – March 27, 1982. Dwight held local positions in the Center Lodge, Saginaw Council #20, and Bay City Commandry Chapter #169 over the past 36 years. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Award and Coroneted a 33° Mason in 2007.

He is the Select Masons Past Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masons of Michigan, Honorary Member of 3 Councils, 4 States and the Province of Ontario. Dwight was a member of the Michigan College Societas Rosicruciana. He was also the Past Worthy Patron of Breckenridge Chapter No. 323 Order of the Eastern Star. He was holder of the College Gold Honor Award for Service Distinguished Brother of the Order of the Purple Cross Past prior of Michigan Priory No. 22. Dwight served for many years on the Grand York Rite Session Arrangement Committee and many service commitments to numerous to count.
