Dustin was born March 16, 1982 at Ardmore, Oklahoma to Patsy Marie Smith Chance and Michael Stanley Chance. While growing up he was a student at Dickson Schools. He died Thursday, November 10, 2011 from injuries received in an auto accident.
He and Ashley Shelley were married April 28, 2010 at Ardmore. Dustin attended the Faith Tabernacle Church and was employed with Fore Roofing, where he was a Lead Man. A Jack of all trades, he enjoyed fishing, especially ‘noodling’; but most of all was the time he had with his daughter, who was the love of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Ashley Chance, daughter, Brooklynn Nicole Chance, Mother, Patsy Marie Hawkins and her husband, Dennis; his father Michael Stanley Chance; brothers, James Gunsolus, Brandon James and his wife, Jennifer; sister, Angela John and her husband, Daniel;and a half sister Chasity Carter; half brothers, Casey Hawkins and his wife, Rachael, Greg Hawkins and his wife, Jennifer; grandfather, Rev. Billy D. Smith, grandmother, Betty Hawkins, grandparents, Dale and Shelby Minyard and Richard Chance and wife, Rose Marie; Uncles, Lonnie Smith and his wife, Melinda, Richard Chance and wife, Rose Marie; Aunts, Cindy Bryson and husband, Melvin, Sherry Gibson and husband, Bucky; mother-in-law, June Shelley; best friend, Brandon Christensen; many nieces and nephews. Dustin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Smith, step-father, Wade James and loving cousin, Robin “Robby” Ritter, Jr.
