Durwood A. Davis, Jr. (aka DJ) passed away at 53 years old on May 2, 2023.
He grew up in Franklinton, NC and worked his entire life in the family well drilling business. DJ graduated from Franklinton High School (class of 1987) and attended classes at Louisburg College for electrical engineering. DJ was the kindest most gentle, loving husband and father. He had a joke and smile for everyone. They called him SMILEY. He gave his shirt to help everybody; even in death as a donor. You could always see his son on his shoulders- hunting, fishing, dirt bike riding, and all the manly things guys like to do. He and his son were the original Opie and Andy.
DJ is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Dale-Davis (of 25 years); his parents, Durwood, Sr. and Katherine Ray Davis; his brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Kathy Davis; his son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Morgan Davis; and his grandchildren, Beckett, Ryder, and Kinley Davis.
