Dudley M. McIntosh, 78, of Anderson passed away peacefully on April 30, 2017 at Alexandria Care Center after an extended illness. He was born April 10, 1939 in Demossville, KY. He came to Anderson in the 1950’s and worked at the Golden Crest Donut Shop and Emge’s until Nov. 1970 when he was hired by the Anderson Fire Department until he retired in June 1997 after 27.5 years, where he served as an FF/ EMT for 10 years and a Lt. & driver for “A” Shift Battalion Chief. He never missed a day of work at the fire station.
Dudley was an avid fisherman, collector of antique fishing baits and tackle, and made his own baits. He loved going to the cabin in Canada to fish and enjoyed the wildlife. He also mowed for IMI at various plants. He was a member of the Indiana Firefighters Association, Central IN Bassmasters, attended Cornerstone Ministries and a member of Parkview Nazarene Church. He loved his family, friends and best friend of 60 years, Marvin Whitaker.
Dudley is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol (Boyer) McIntosh, whom he married August 6, 1972; daughter, Cara (Greg) Walters of Georgetown, son, Chad (Melissa) McIntosh of Noblesville; grandchildren, Tre, Leigha and Callie Walters, Acea D’Ann McIntosh and Chance Bentley; sister, Viola McClain of Anderson; several nieces, Laura, Greta and Vicky and nephew, Rodney; sisters and brothers-in-law, Michael (Nancy) Boyer and Kevin (Lori) Boyer of Van Buren, also children, Todd McIntosh and family and Carolyn Venable and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Nellie (Grant) McIntosh; brother, John McIntosh; daughter, Melissa (McIntosh) Clear and in-laws, Frances and Alice Boyer.
