Dudley Allen Fontenot was born November 19, 1933 in Chataignier, Louisiana to Jean Batiste and Olivia Fontenot. He was the youngest of 15 children and spent much of his childhood in Eunice, Louisiana. Dudley joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and retired on August 31, 1972 as a Vehicle Operations Supervisor, Technical Sergeant (TSgt) after serving his country for 20 years. Dudley married his wife of 45 years, Christine Weeks, on April 21, 1973. They met in Colorado Springs, Colorado and moved to Spokane, Washington where he and Christine raised their five children. Dudley worked at Empire Lines in Spokane as the Safety and Operations Director for several years. He later took a job in Boise, Idaho and spent many years working for Boise Winnemucca Stages as a Sales and Operations Manager.

Dudley was someone you could count on. He had an incredible work ethic and a gift for bringing stability and consistency to his family. You could often find Dudley in his home office working. He was known for his big smile, hugs that made you feel like everything was going to be ok, his Cajun cooking (and accent) and his tireless and selfless dedication to serving the needs of his wife. Dudley was preceded in death by his wife Christine Louise Fontenot, his parents and his 14 siblings. Dudley is survived by his five children, Sue Agtuca (Kenney), Darrell “Dan” Fontenot (Tina), Christine “Tina” McNairy (Jerry), Darren Fontenot (Dallis), Julia Herschberger (Ed), 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. As the patriarch of the family, he will be dearly missed.
