Dudley Aubrey Dickerson, Jr. of Burlington Township, passed away on Saturday at the age of 94. Dudley was a lifelong Burlington area resident who served his country honorably during World War II in US Army Air Corp. He worked for and retired from PSE&G as an Electrical Load Manager. He then began another working career at N.A.D.E in Bordentown before his decided to settle down.
He was very active in the Burlington Township Community having served on many committees’, a councilman from 1960-1969 and he served as Mayor of Burlington Township from 1968-70. He was a member of the Broad Street Methodist Church and taught Sunday School. In his spare time he enjoyed boating and the shore. He was very proud to be an owner of a Commercial Pilot’s License and owning his own airplane.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Ruby (Nee: Curtis) Dickerson and their children: Sherrie Dickerson, Dudley Aubrey Dickerson, III (Francine); grandchildren: Amy Williams, Kimberly Wilson, Dudley A. Dickerson, IV, Nicole Edwardson, Judith Turner; 10 Great-Grandchildren; a sister Elizabeth Cramer; brother Milton Dickerson and several nieces and nephews.
