Duane Thomas Batler, 93, of Anderson, passed away on March 18, 2015 at Community Hospital of Anderson. He was one day shy of celebrating his 94th birthday. He was born the son of Charles and Vivian (Kimm) Batler in Alexandria, Ind. on March 19, 1921. He was a graduate of Alexandria High School. He was a retired tool and die maker for Guide Lamp in Anderson after 25 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anderson. He had also been a member of the Chief Anderson Lion’s Club where he served as treasurer for 10 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his prized crops. He was also a co owner of B&B Drug in Marion, IN together with his son, Thomas Batler. Duane is survived by his loving daughter, Linda (Ken) Ramey of Noblesville, IN; daughter-in-law, Anita Batler; five grandchildren, Jennifer Ramey, Matthew Ramey, Erica Kojetin, Ashley Batler, and Samantha Batler. He also had seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Louise” Batler; and son, Tom Batler. Also, a special thank you to his neighbor, Irene Maberry-Purcell, who was of great help and support throughout the years, as well as his daughter-in-law, Anita.
