Duane T. “Tom” Young, Sr., 80, of Anderson, passed away on April 29, 2013 at his home.
He was born on March 7, 1933 in Anderson, the son of Ernest and Hazel Wilson Young. He retired from Best-Ever/Prairie Farms Dairy. He liked to fish and go camping. He was a member of South Meridian Church of God where he was an usher and attended their Rise and Shine Fellowship. He was a member of the Class of 1953 of Anderson High School. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Wanda Fulks Young, daughter, Rita Rick Webb of Anderson, son, Tom Nikki Young of Pendleton, Four grandchildren, Heather Joe Pagano of MO, Kortney Stephen Upshaw of Anderson, CJ Webb of Anderson and Nick Webb of Anderson as well as five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother, Mike Young of Anderson, two sisters-in-law, Ruby Ed Shipley of Hymera, IN, Janice Geiger of Lapel and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ernest Young, brothers-in-law, Norman and Jim Fulks Ivan Geiger and Herbert Jones; sisters-in-law, Ruth Jones, Carole Young, and Nancy Young.
