Duane Donald Carlson, a long-time resident of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on June 7, 2015, at age 95. He was born in Buhl, Idaho on March 3, 1920, to parents Amanda and Edward Carlson, and grew up during the depression years in logging and lumber mill communities in central and eastern Oregon. He graduated from high school in 1938 in Baker City, Oregon and earned his B.S. degree at the University of Oregon in Eugene in 1942.
