Dru and Byron were blessed to welcome their son, Danny in 1951, their first daughter, Sharon in 1953, and lastly, Susan in 1959. Her children were blessed to have been raised in a Christian home. Dru was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton, Georgia and always believed that there was a plan for us greater than what we could see. Dru will be forever remembered for many things some of which were her love of cooking and serving others in “Dru’s Sunday Diner”, southern gospel music, the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, the best chocolate pie ever, blackberry picking and making jelly, and the companionship of the many dogs and cats that she nurtured through the years. Dru loved her family dearly and enjoyed the grandchildren and great grandchildren spending the night at her house frequently. Dru was a smart, strong woman who enjoyed laughter and being surrounded by many friends. Dru leaves many warm memories in the hearts of her family and those who knew her.
