Dr. W.O. Elliott, 85, died July 15, 2006, while sleeping in the peace of his home. A native of Crenshaw County, Ala., he was born March 8, 1921, to the late William P. and Zora Cochran Elliott. Upon his graduation from Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, Mo., in 1949, he moved to Newnan. Dr. Elliott was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Medical Corps. His involvement in his community included service as a Mason, a member of Shrine, and he was a charter member of the Newnan Elk’s Lodge.

He was a member of Newnan First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. Dr. Elliott’s life passions were his church, his family, his patients and the chiropractic practice. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, June Newby Elliott, in Feb. 2005. Surviving him are his children, John O’Neal Elliott and his wife Dolores of Marietta, Janet Elliott Cantrell and her husband Danny of Newnan, William Kerry Elliott and his wife Mary Ann of Newnan and Susan Elliott Taylor and her husband Steve of Hoover, Ala.; one brother, Jimmy Lee Elliott, also survives. Dr. Elliott’s grandchildren are Kimberly Fletcher, Ashley Riley, Ross Elliott, Bailey Taylor, John Ryan Elliott, Katie Cantrell, Kelli Cantrell and Kasey Taylor. There are two great-grandchildren, McKenna and Meghan Riley.
