Dr. William H. Houser, 82, Sarasota, died August 24, 2003 at Sarasota Hospital-Sarasota, Florida unexpectedly. He was born September 16, 1920 in Perry, Oklahoma, and resided in Sarasota, Florida. He was a graduate of Ball State University. He worked his way through the University of Chicago; College of Osteopathy by playing with Louis Prima?s Band. He also worked his way through Indiana University School of Medicine. He then specialized in anethesiology and was invited to go to Cincinnati, Ohio by a team of surgeons. He became increasingly interested in family medicine and started a practice in North College Hill and later opened another office at his home in Deer Park, both suburbs of Cincinnati. He delighted in getting to know his patients and their families and made house calls for most of his 40 years of practice. Dr. Houser was a 33 degree Mason, member of Lapel Masonic Lodge #625 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple Shrine, Madison County Shrine Club, Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge #209, long time member of the Musicians Union and the American Medical Association. He is survived by his Two Sisters: Maxine H. & husband David J. Williams of Anderson, Indiana. Shirley Helen & husband Carroll S. Anderson of Sarasota, Florida. Nieces & Nephews: Jan Williams of Mishawaka, Indiana. Kent Williams of Anderson, Indiana. Cheryl & husband Dr. Claude Zanetti of Sarasota, Florida. Vincent Houser of Sherman Oaks, California. Sister-in-law: Elizabeth Zwickle Houser of Sherman Oaks, California. Great Nieces & Great Nephews: Ashlee Witham and Alex Witham, both of Anderson, Indiana. William Zanetti and Sandra Zanetti, both of Sarasota, Florida. Long Time Special Friend: Ms. Lee Cain of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded by his Parents: William F. & Anna Baker Houser. Brother: Donald F. Houser in 2001. Nephew: Dr. William J. Roehm in 1973. Niece: Kim Witham in 1998.
