Dr. William F. Keish Jr., 76, of Glastonbury, CT, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.  Bill grew up in Manchester, CT, on a dairy farm, son of the late William & Georgiana (Peabody) Keish.

Dr. Keish practiced veterinary medicine for over 40 years, owning and operating Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital for much of his career.  Bill was an active member of 4-H throughout his life.  He showed dairy cows growing up, and shared his passion for cows with his children and grandchildren as a member of the Belted Galloway Association.  He was an active member of Hartford County 4-H Camp board and a 4-H volunteer for over 40 years.

Bill was also a long-time fan and supporter of UConn basketball.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy (King) and his sister Barbara Poirot of Dallas, GA. He is also survived by his three children: Brian Keish and his wife Rachael; Dawn Neese and her husband Aaron; and Laura Sprague and her husband Steve.

He was “Papa” to seven grandchildren, who were his pride and joy: Michael, Camden, Steven, Brayden, Caitlin, Noah, and Jocelyn.  He supported all of their endeavors, including sporting events, 4-H fairs and cattle shows, and academics, and was incredibly proud of all their accomplishments.

The family is eternally grateful for the wonderful extra 17 years he was given thanks to the generous gift from his kidney donor, Robin.
