Dr. Timothy Jay DeBoer, age 61, of DeMotte, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Franciscan Health Crown Point.
He was born March 18, 1959, in Harvey, IL, the son of Henry R. and Mildred (Eenigenburg) DeBoer.
Tim was a graduate of Illiana Christian High School class of 1977, he attended Purdue Calumet, Parks University in East St Louis, Colorado State and obtained his degree in Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. On August 21, 1981 he married the love of his life Susan K. Laninga.
Tim was a member of the Immanuel United Reformed Church. Over the years Tim held office in his church, he loved teaching catechism to the young people there. He enjoyed reading, flying, hunting, boating, and snow skiing; however, what he held most dear was spending time with his family.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Sue; his children Jessica (Justin) Colanese, Kyle (Jordan) DeBoer, Sara (Greg) VanEssendelft and Luke (Jenna) DeBoer; his mother Mildred DeBoer; siblings, Robert DeBoer, John (Mary) DeBoer, Laurel (Tim) Stegenga and Dan (Sherry) DeBoer; and 8 grandchildren, Jude, Jonah, Korah, Jack, Remi, Avery, Thijs and Isla.
