Dr. Robert “Bob” DiCarlo, a retired anesthesiologist from Denver, passed away November 24 at the age of 84.
Born and raised in Cranford, N.J., Bob was diagnosed with macular degeneration early in life, but still managed to have a long and successful medical career.
Bob studied medicine in Italy before beginning his anesthesiology internship in St. Petersburg, Florida. It is there where he met and married his wife of over 50 years, Marta. They moved to Denver in 1967, where Bob worked until his retirement.
In his younger years, Bob loved running and racing cars. He was an accomplished race walker, fly fisherman, watercolor artist and avid sports fan. He loved his Michigan Wolverines, CU Buffs and all Colorado pro sports teams. But mostly, he was a doting husband and a proud and loving father and grandfather.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marta; his three children, George (Amy), Andrea (Bob) and Mona; and his seven grandchildren, Mika, Casey, Zoe, Sydney, McKenna, Erin and Ryan.
