Dr. Robert Lee “Bob” Simpson, Jr, age 74, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Juanita Carter Simpson.
Dr. Simpson is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Laura Bradley Simpson Buford; son, Robert L. Simpson, III, Buford; daughter, Karen Simpson, Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Robert L. Simpson IV, Austin Simpson, Laura Thompson, Flynn Thompson, Erin Thompson, Kathryn Thompson; sister, Mary (Warren) Kay, Ocala, FL; uncles, Lee Carter, Buford, and Lewis Carter, Dahlonega, GA; and several cousins.
Mr. Simpson was born on July 28, 1946 in Gainesville, GA.
He graduated in 1954 from George High School in Atlanta, GA, and from the University of GA with a Bachelor’s degree, GA Institute of Technology with a Master’s degree and a Ph. D. Dr. Simpson was a retired Lt. Col. from the U S Air Force after twenty-three years of service. He was also a retired research consultant from GA Institute of Technology.
