Dr. Marilyn Elaine McGrath (née Jablonski) died peacefully on December 7, 2014, at the age of 66, in South Seaside Park, NJ, surrounded by family and friends. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Colleen McGrath of Toms River NJ, companion, Anthony “Tony” Camarota of Atlantic City, NJ, and a myriad of close friends. Marilyn was born on November 7, 1948, in Jersey City, NJ to Helen and Henry Jablonski.

Through Marilyn’s love of education and her desire to share that knowledge, she earned her Doctorate Degree in Education from Seton Hall University in 1995. She began her career as an English teacher at Belleville High School, NJ, advanced to Vice Principal, and ultimately Principal before her retirement in 2010. Marilyn’s greatest accomplishment was the raising of her daughter, Colleen, who has followed in her mother’s career footsteps.

Colleen and friends remember Marilyn as a very strong, independent, and confident woman, who gave of herself to her daughter and her friends. Marilyn was a generous and compassionate individual who thoroughly enjoyed volunteering her time with charity work. She was an active member of Open Arms, Contact of Ocean County, and the Domestic Violence Response Team. She belonged to the Toms River Country Club where she loved learning to play tennis. Marilyn adored spending time on the beach, traveling, and riding her horse, Tracker.
