Dr. John married Angel Ramp on May 12, 1979, in Indianapolis, IN. He served as a minister for 42 years, serving most recently at Hedrick Christian Church in Hedrick, IA.
Dr. John was an avid basketball fan, spending his free time attending games.
John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Angel, daughter, Mariah Angel (Andrew) Houp of Des Moines, four sisters of Indianapolis, IN, and his aunt, Margaret Lewis of Richmond, VA. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Martha (Calvin Richard) Pelley, and his father, John Oliver Lewis, Sr.
