Dr. James (Jim) Bradley of Eatonton, GA (Lake Oconee) passed away on Wed. Dec. 28, 2022 at age 89 after a long illness.

He was predeceased by his parents James B. Bradley and Frances (Allen) Bradley, his sister Margaret Bradley Foley and brother-in-law Marty Foley.

He is survived by his wife (Linda) whom he was married to for over 47 years.

During his high school (Berkeley High) years (in Moncks Corner, SC) he excelled in baseball and football. He had wanted to become a professional baseball player but a broken leg suffered during one of his games ended that dream. He later went to Virginia Commonwealth University and obtained a degree in Oral Surgery. He practiced oral surgery for a number of years in Columbia, SC He later decided to become a physician. He attended the Medical University of SC and received his degree as a medical doctor. After practicing medicine for a number of years he decided to become a psychiatrist. He completed a residency in Psychiatry in NC and worked as a psychiatrist in SC then moved to GA where he became board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology and practiced at two state hospitals in GA. He retired in 2006.

During his educational years he obtained the honors of Delta Sigma Delta and Alpha Omega Alpha.

He met the love of his life (Linda) while doing his psychiatric residency in NC and she was doing her psychiatric nursing rotation. When they moved to GA they built a home on Lake Oconee in Eatonton where Jim lived until his death. They enjoyed fishing, being around all kinds of wildlife and caring for their German Shepherds and Pekingese and numerous birds through the years.

Jim will be missed by those who knew and loved him and enjoying his quick wit and love for the SC Gamecocks.
