Dr. James Harold Langston
1929 ~ 2009
Dr. James H. Langston passed away peacefully Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the age of 80. With family by his side, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
He was born in Fayette Alabama, May 11, 1929 and was raised in Brownville, Alabama, a small town west of Tuscaloosa. After Northport County High School he married his high school sweetheart Marguerite Lancaster, November 13, 1948. They celebrated their 60th anniversary November 2008. He entered Pre Med at the University of Alabama then graduated from University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1955. His Dental Career started in the Air Force in Savannah, Georgia and then moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1957 and practiced Dentistry there until he retired at age 70 November 1999.
He was also proud to have served on the board of directors at First City Bank for 41 years. He was honored there with scholarships in his name.
He is survived by his wife Marguerite and their 3 children, 3 grand Children and 2 great grandchildren.
His son James Dennis Langston/wife Janice and granddaughter Stacy/husband Brandon Durham and grandson Denny Langston, Jr./wife Kirsten and great grandchildren Brody and Hayden Durham. His daughter Rita Jureczki and daughter Jureda Diaz/husband Amaury and granddaughter Savannah Jureczki. Also survived by his brother Joe Langston/wife Margaret of Birmingham, Alabama and their children Susan Langston and her daughter Whitney Morris, Joey Langston/wife Melissa and their children Sarah and Owen.
His family will miss him deeply and will always remember him for his humble ways, his wit and for always making us laugh to the end.
