Dr. James Edward Dost was born on November 16, 1950 to Ed and Helen Dost in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away on January 6th, 2019 at Jones Pass in Idaho Springs, Colorado.

Jim attended the University of Michigan where he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). He moved to Denver, Colorado in 1975 to complete a residency at Denver General Hospital. He then opened his own dental practice and served the Denver community for 43 years until his recent passing. He also served as professional member of the Colorado Dental Board.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed backpacking, skiing, showshoeing, and especially pursuing the elusive golden trout by way of fly fishing. The accomplished Eagle Scout relished the outdoors, and enjoyed many trips to the Wind River area with a loyal group of likeminded friends. Jim passed away while enjoying a day of snowshoeing in the Rocky Mountains.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Helen Dost. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathi; his sons Brian, Brody, and Jeremy; his brother Rob; and the multitude of friends and patients that he has acquired and held on to over the last 68 years.

As an avid Michigan fan – his sendoff is Go Blue!
