Dr. Howard “Bruce” Miles, DDS of Tampa, FL passed away Friday, December 9, 2022.
Dr. Howard “Bruce” Miles, Sr. is a native of Tampa, Florida. He matriculated through the Hillsborough County School District and graduated from Howard W. Blake High School in 1965. He continued his higher education at Bethune Cookman College, where he met the love of his life, Patricia. He became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in 1966 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Mathematics in 1969.
Following graduation, he taught Mathematics at Campbell Middle School in Daytona Beach, Florida. Three years later, Bruce decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a Dentist. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) from Howard University in 1976. Upon graduation, Dr. Miles was awarded a three-year rotation in General Anesthesia at the following facilities: District of Columbia General Hospital, Washington, D.C., Prince George County Hospital, Prince George County Maryland and Providence Hospital, Washington, D.C.
Dr. Miles and his family returned to Tampa, FL in 1979 where he maintained a successful private practice for 43 years.

His eternal love lives on through: his wife and life partner, Patricia E. Miles; two children, H. Bruce Miles II. and Tanece Margi-Ree Miles; grandson, Kendall R. Miles; sister, Lynda M. Rawls; sister-in-law, Chris Scrivens; neices and nephews, Leronya Vaughn-Dunmore (Jerry), Kimberly Burke, Renee Miles Hunter (Anthony), Leroy Miles, III (Tonya), J’Nai Miles Toombs (James), Nichalas Rawls (Kerry-Ann), Jason Miles (Latesia), Blair Rawls, Christopher Miles, Joshua Burch (Mariah), and Brian Cuffie; and a host of other family and friends.
