Dr. E. James Anderson, M.D., F.A.A.P. died Saturday May 21, 2016.  Dr. Anderson was a 1953 graduate of DeLaSalle high school, the first graduating class.  He earned his B.S. Degree from L.S.U. in 1957 and  his M.D. from L.S.U. in 1960.

In 1961 Dr. Anderson went on to serve his Internship at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans., he then served his country in the United States Navy Sea Duty from 1961-62 as Chief Medical Officer, Repair Ship, U.S.S. Delta,  from 1962-64 at the U.S.N. Hospital San Diego, Pediatric Residency, and  from 1964-66 at U.S.N. Hospital Pensacola, Practicing Pediatrician.  Dr. Anderson was a Certified Fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics in 1966, he was in private practice from 1966-74 and an equal partner at Deshautreaux, Klien, and Anderson Pediatric Group as well as a Clinical Associate Professor L.S.U. Medical School, New Orleans. In  1970 Dr. Anderson became Chief of Department of Pediatrics at Hotel Dieu.

In 1975 he founded  E. James Anderson, A medical Corporation that has evolved into Sunrise Pediatric Associates and now composed of 5 practicing pediatricians, where he served as CEO.  In 1978 he became Chief of Pediatrics, East Jefferson General Hospital.  In addition  Dr. Anderson was a Pediatric Consultant at Belle Chase State School Pediatric Consultant for Louisiana Institute, Bridge City, Athletic Examiner Consultant, DeLaSAlle High School, Member at Large, Executive Committee, East Jefferson General Hospital, Member, Adolescent Health Section, A.A.
