Long time Denver area musician and teacher, Dr. Donna June Bogard, age 88, of Arvada, Colorado died peacefully at home on July 13, 2019, surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Harrell and Mardelle (Holloway) Mosbaugh, Donna was born on June 15, 1931 in Arcadia, Indiana. She spent her childhood in Arcadia, then her family moved to Billings, Montana where she attended high school. Education was extremely important to Donna. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for her Bachelor of Music Education, Master of Music Education and Ph.D. in Music Education (1983) degrees. She was often heard shouting “Go Buffs, Go!” at her musical events. She was married to Charles Francis Bogard on June 5, 1953 and they had four children. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles, her children Chris Bogard-Reynolds (and Cary Polevoy), Tim Bogard, Theresa Bogard (and Glêsse Collet), Steven Bogard (and Kyle Craig Bogard) and her grandson, Zach Reynolds of whom she was so proud. She is also survived by her two younger brothers Keith (and Joanne) Mosbaugh and Terry (and Norma) Mosbaugh.
Dr. Bogard taught piano and voice in Arvada for 55 years and was an active member of the Colorado State Music Teachers Association. She was the organist and choir director at Shrine of St.
