Dr. David Brian Landrum, 59, of Madison, AL, passed away on January 21, 2022 after a two year battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Landrum. He is survived by his wife, Tracy, children; Josh (Katy), and Kailey (Justin), beloved grandchildren; Tate, Ellie, and Luke, father, James Landrum (Jo), brother, Mark (Kimberly) Landrum, and sisters; Lynn Reagan and Jill Lee.

Brian was born in Tyler, Texas on May 28, 1962 to James and Judy Landrum. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, completing his Bachelors degree (1984) and Masters degree (1986). After a two year stint at Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque, New Mexico, proceeded to complete his phD degree from NC State. After completing his own education, he came to the University of Alabama Huntsville to begin an inspirational teaching career of 30 years, during which he taught Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and encouraged hundreds of his students in both their professional careers and personal lives. He was regarded by many students as a supportive and guiding sounding board as well as a personal mentor and friend. Outside of academia, Brian served as the Educational Pastor at West Huntsville Baptist Church for 12 years. There, he passionately set the course of teaching curriculum, helped to cultivate a community built on the love of Christ and loving people. He participated in events, plays, outreach, and missions to share God’s love to those around him.
