Clyde Meyer, PhD., age 69 of Port Saint Lucie passed away of natural causes on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
He was born to the late Edwin and Catherine Meyer on May 16, 1951, in NYC and was raised in Westfield and Holyoke, MA. Clyde earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Westfield State College and his PhD. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
He began his career as an elementary school teacher in Westfield, MA, and served as Special Education Director at Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA. Dr. Meyer owned and operated the Sylvan Learning Centers on the Treasure Coast.
Clyde is survived by his children, Kayley Meyer, Landon Meyer, Preston Meyer, and Jami Mullis.
His grandchildren Weatherley-Paige, Carter, and Aryia, and his ex-wife and love Melinda Downing, his brothers Craig and Edgar Meyer, sisters Gwendolyn Mochak, Lynn Gebo, Arlene Traylor, and Lisa Kelly, along with many nieces and nephews, and his lifelong best friend John Binczewski.
Besides spending time with family and friends, Clyde enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, waterskiing, and reading. He could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. His gregarious and witty personality made him the life of the party. He lived by the motto, “Live life to the fullest.”
