Dr. Charles T. Lenton, Jr., 88, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to natural causes. Charles was born on July 24, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Charles T. Lenton Sr. and Frances Burger Lenton, and has been a resident of Lakeland since 1968.
Charles graduated from Haverford College and the University of Pennsylvania with a Doctorate in Medicine. He later specialized in Radiology from the University of Virginia. He was a founding member of Radiology and Imaging Specialists of Lakeland, Florida. Two years in the Army was served during World War II. He authored the book, “Miracle in Mexico”, which is based on alternative medicine. After publishing his book, Charles traveled extensively to conduct seminars on alternative medicine. Upon retiring from Lakeland Regional Medical Center, he continued to travel and practice medicine in 6 states which he was licensed in with Locum Tenens Staffing.
He was preceded in death by his third wife, Helen Johnston Lenton and is survived by his daughters, Patricia Ann Lenton of St. Petersburg, Florida. Barbara Louise Stephens of Sarasota, Florida, Christine Renee Kelly of Chicago, Illinois, and Laura Elizabeth Theismann, RN of Lakeland, Florida; brother, Donald R. Lenton of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
