Reverend Douglas W. Haynes, age 60, of Storm Lake, Iowa was called to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, December 18, 2005 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Douglas Warren Haynes was born August 8, 1945 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William and Clara (Kleinsteiber) Haynes.
Pastor Haynes was a loving husband and devoted father whose family was very important to him. He enjoyed traveling, liked everything about cars, found movies to be relaxing and was a wrestling fan. Pastor worked tirelessly to serve his Lord and Savior, and the people in his congregations. His purpose in the ministry was based on Ephesians 4:12. He explained this as “helping people to love one another in Christ and to work together.”
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara, of Alta, Iowa; daughter Brenda (Eric) Gerken of St. Petersburg, Florida; son Keith Haynes of Columbus, Ohio; grandson Jayson; extended family members, members of his congregations over the years, and countless friends from all walks in life. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
