Douglas Underwood, 66, Pendleton, passed away November 23, 2010 at Countryside Manor, Anderson after an extended illness.

He was born November 17, 1944 in Altus, Oklahoma, and resided in Pendleton most of his life. Douglas served his country in the US Airforce Reserves for six years. He was a farmer and owned Underwood Cattle Company. Douglas was a member of Markleville North Christian Church. He was very involved in 4-H being a leader for over 30 years and the Future Farmers of America.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Alfa Castor Underwood; children, Christopher Underwood, Kurt Underwood Rene’, Shelley Landers Ronnie, Shane Ashton Angie and Mishelle Cave Alvin; mother, Marianne Presser Underwood; brother, Joseph Kent Underwood Cindy; uncle, Dr. George Underwood Rosemary; 15 grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews; many special friends including, Rick Autrey, Greg Oldham, Jerry Moore, Mike Smith, Tom Younts, Steve and Jeannie Watson and Bob Himes and brothers-in-law, Jim Castor Charlotte and Bill Castor Judy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Col. John Underwood Jr.; aunt, Bettie Mae Williams and cousins, Gregg and Mike Underwood.
