Douglas Terry Aderhold, age 61 of Leeds, AL. He went home to be with his Savior on January 29, was a Staff Sargent in the Army National Guard and he served 31 years 5 months and 15 days for his total military service. He was awarded numerous medals that include the Air Medal with Valor, Global War on Terrorism, two National Defense Service Medal, Master Aviation Badge and the Army Accommodation Medal. He logged over 2500 hours of flight time in various Army Helicopters. He was part of several deployments over his years of service including Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Dominican Republic and Honduras. He also worked 25 years as a federal employee. He was a loving “Papa Doug” to his grandsons and he loved the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Waldrop Aderhold; daughters, Stacy Little (Jason) and Shelley Simpson (Tim); sister, Barbara Petty; brother, Donald Aderhold (Susan); grandchildren, Audra, Madeline and Luke Little and Ethan, Gideon and Corban Simpson; several nephews.
