Douglas Paul Granberg 1969-2014.  Douglas Granberg, age 44, passed away at his home on October 3, 2014. Douglas was a loving husband, brother, son, and friend to many. He was always smiling, happy, loved to cook, and entertain a crowd.

He was born on December 9, 1969 in Boise, Idaho. He was the youngest of three sons born to Donald and JoAnn Granberg. He was a devoted son who adored his parents and they shared a very special bond throughout his life. He was dearly loved by all his nieces and nephews. Uncle Doug was a favorite of many of them.

He graduated from Borah High School in 1988 with honors. He was an athlete who enjoyed playing baseball, football, and basketball. After high school he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve. After two years serving in the reserves and attending Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, he was called into active duty. He served his country in the first Gulf War. After returning he moved to Las Vegas and attended University of Nevada Las Vegas where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and restaurant management in May of 1994.  He then moved to Hawaii where he had an internship with the Hawaii Hilton. After returning from Hawaii he moved to Colorado where he worked at and managed several restaurants in the Denver area. He moved back to Boise in 1998.

In 2003, while working at the Navajo, he met and fell in love with Mollie Alexander, who he married in 2008.

Doug is survived by his wife, Mollie; his parents, Donald and JoAnn Granberg of Boise, brothers Duane (Jean) Granberg of Colorado, and Dean Granberg of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

You are loved Doug. We will miss your kindness, smiles, laughter, and easy going demeanor forever.
