Douglas Edward Kowalski, age 54, died peacefully at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Maryland. He was surrounded by family. Beloved son of the late Edward P. Kowalski; son of Helen C. Kowalski; brother of Susan Fishman (Dr. Gerald Fishman) of Columbia, South Carolina; brother of Dr. David Kowalski of Silver Spring, Maryland; brother of Nancy McFadden (Dr. David McFadden) of Avon, Connecticut; brother of Brenda Roberts of Gainesville, Florida. Douglas is also survived by ten nieces and nephews and many cousins who loved him dearly.
After graduating from high school he chose a career in plumbing. He loved nature and all animals, especially his dog Molly. His hobbies were gardening, fishing and golf. He had a passion for remodeling homes. Douglas was a loyal and giving person. He often did home repairs for a person in need never expecting anything in return.
The family is thankful for the compassionate and loving support from the Holy Cross hospital staff.
