He was born on September 22, 1964, in Pittsylvania County, the son of the late Everett Hammock and is survived by his mother Roxie Ann Haley Hammock. He is survived by five children, David Lee Hammock of Chatham, Gena Kaye Mays of Callands, Stephanie Lyn Hammock of Callands, and Douglas Edward Hammock, Jr. of Callands and Cheyenne Grace Redd of Callands; one brother, Charles Wade Hammock of Callands; two half brothers, Eddie Hammock and Kenneth Hammock; one half sister, Patricia H. Keener; his girlfriend, Bonnie Redd of Callands; two grandsons, Logan Everette Hammock and Lucus Edward Hammock of Chatham.
